Hello, Saltlife Family friends!
We know it’s been a while since we last checked in, and we’ve missed sharing our travel stories and adventures with you all. Life has been quite the journey recently, but not the kind you pack a suitcase for!
We’ve entered a new chapter—becoming empty nesters—and it’s been a bittersweet experience.
Our daughters, Kennedy and Maddy, are off living their exciting new lives. Kennedy has started a beautiful new chapter of her own, moving out and getting married. Maddy is embarking on her college journey, leaving us with a quieter home and a lot of emotions.
These changes have given us time to reflect, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t miss our family trips. For the first time in a long while, we’re facing the unknown of when our next vacation as a family will be, and that’s been hard. We know many of you have gone through similar transitions, and we’d love to hear how you’ve handled it. How did you adapt to this new stage of life? Have you found new ways to enjoy travel without your kids? Any suggestions for romantic, adventurous, or unique vacation destinations now that it’s just the two of us for a while?
While our travels have slowed down, we’re excited to rediscover ourselves as a couple and explore the world in new ways. We hope to embrace this new chapter with open arms and embark on exciting adventures as a duo. After all, just because our family dynamic is changing, doesn’t mean our love for exploring the world has to!
We’d love to reconnect with you, our incredible Saltlife community, and hear your stories. Feel free to share your advice or travel tips in the comments below or on social media. Thank you for sticking with us through this transition. We’re ready to dive back into sharing our lives with you and can’t wait to take you along on our next adventure—whatever that may be!
With love and excitement for the future,
Cari & Monty
